Nicely done Graeme! Your sighting is definetely of an Opuntia cactus, but It does not appear to be O.stricta. I'll return to unidentified for the moment.
Thanks Mike. there are dozens of these Indian figs growing on Scrivener hill. We have released a bio control here and have also trialled some different herbicides. Unfortunately I think that people are physically spreading the paddles on purpose.
