User's notes

Paracymoriza eromenalis (Snellen, 1880). Crambidae, Acentropinae There is a real problem with this species 1. The AFD has it as Ambia eromenalis (Snellen, 1880) and places it in the subfamily Acentropinae Ambia is a genus in Crambidae, Musotiminae; while eromenalis is a species in Crambidae, Acentropinae 2. Ambia ptolycusalis Walker, 1859, for a long time has been completely misidentified. The Checklist of Lepidoptera of Australia, 1996 included this species with eromenalis as a new synonym. An image of Walher's holotype of Ambia ptolycusalis was published in Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum Alexander Koenig. Jahrg.53-54 (2005-2006) 2005 p224 and looks nothing like Paracymoriza eromenalis https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/45023431#page/234/mode/1up 3. All the images on BOLD of Ambia ptolycusalis are in fact Paracymoriza eromenalis. The butterfly house website has both Paracymoriza eromenalis, as Ambia eromenalis and Ambia ptolycusalis, again the Ambia ptolycusalis is in fact Paracymoriza eromenalis. 4. However based on the DNA on BOLD of their version of Ambia ptolycusalis (which is really Paracymoriza eromenalis) there are two species involved, having a 3.34% difference and placed in two Bins. As there is only one named available for the Australian species, for now the two must be considered as one. 5. While both species have overseas type localities, Ambia ptolycusalis, type locality: Malaysia, Sarawak and Paracymoriza eromenalis type locality: Indonesia, Sulawesi [Celebes], Makassar; Ambia ptolycusalis is most likely not in Australia.

I note Axel Kallies on iNat has had troubles with this one too, but settled for Paracymoriza eromenalis and they have placed it in Crambidae, Acentropinae

Let's not claim another feral (above Wallace Line) moth.
