The two spiders were about 15 m apart, each web strung between two slender dead saplings, with spiders sitting at about head height. The web was fine, but in its food string, the web was sticky and golden.
The latin name edulis is derived from this spider being eaten in parts of teh Pacific. A golden cloak was made from the webs of a closely related species on Madagasca seepage 104 of Whyte and anderson spiders of Australia
